In June 2020, Dan Porter Motors (Dickinson, ND) became the first automotive dealership in the U.S. to control their inventory in real-time on outdoor digital billboards with the Lucit Layout smartphone app.
“Our objective was to develop an application to publish inventory to digital billboards with a single click,” says Gina Gordon, CEO of LUCIT. “We delivered on that goal with the launch of Lucit Layout.”
Lucit Layout is an inventory feed management application with connectors to various third-party consumers of digital inventory. Integration of Lucit Drive billboard software with billboards from Dakota Outdoor (powered by Apparatix) enables the dealership to completely control the billboard images that run, in real-time, from their phone, tablet, or desktop computer.
“Amazing, easy, and simple,” observed Rob Wilkinson, GM of Dan Porter Motors, “you guys knocked it out of the park.”
Layout Real-Time Billboards
The application ingests a real-time feed of data from the dealer’s inventory management system, automatically generates creatives and places the app user’s selected inventory on the board. In just minutes, Lucit Layout automates and streamlines processes that used to take days.
“Our system also receives ping-backs from the digital boards” notes LUCIT CTO Eric Kubischta, “and we then provide the user real-time feedback on their OOH campaigns and play statistics” With this app, any user can now see their digital boards in real-time, without having to be in front of the board itself or wait for reports from their operator. The stats are built directly into the application.
